I spent weeks coaching a lighting problem.
In the late summer of 2018, a string of collisions in my trailer yard turned out to have nothing to do with my drivers. The yard lights hadn’t adjusted for earlier sunsets. There was a 15-20 minute window every evening when drivers were parking in near-darkness. New timer settings. Problem solved.
Take Action: Before your next performance conversation, physically walk the area where the issue is occurring. Look at the equipment, the lighting, the setup. Spend ten minutes looking at the environment before you look at the person.
