Start with the person, not the task.
Strategic delegation flips the normal equation. Instead of finding someone to do the work, you find work that develops people. Ask “Who needs to learn this?” not “Who can do this?” This shift transforms delegation from task distribution into capability building. Same work gets done, but you’re developing someone’s skills.
Take Action: For your next delegation, write down who could do it fastest versus who would grow most. Notice the difference.
