Quality over quantity matters exponentially in cross-functional settings.
Most cross-functional meetings have too many people. Every additional person increases coordination complexity while reducing decision velocity. The goal isn’t to include everyone who might have an opinion—it’s to include only those who must participate for decisions to stick.
Take Action: Review the attendee list for your next cross-functional meeting. Identify anyone who needs updates but doesn’t need to participate in decisions. Send them a calendar update removing them—with a note that you’ll share the summary afterward.
